Description: Waiting for your purchase is this beautiful salad or dessert plate from G.D.A. in LIMOGES area of FRANCE. The plate is made of a very fine porcelain material. Its quality can be seen and felt. The plate is a creamy white and has gold around the outer edge, a thin gold line at the inner edge, and a double line after the design of tiny tulips, also trimmed in gold. The tulips are red, with a set of green leaves. I don't think Marie Antoinette ate from this plate, but she would have enjoyed it if she had! The plate measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter across. It has two marks on back. First is stamped in green - G.D.A. over the word "France". The initials stand for GERARD, DUFRAISSEIX, and ABBOT. These names were added to a mark in 1898. The second mark is a reddish laurel wreath with GDA over the word Limoges. I do not know how long this mark was in use, so I don't know when the plate was made. And, I don't know the pattern. All I can tell you is that it is lovely!
