Description: Waiting for your purchase is this charming carved wooden thermometer, featuring a deer and a tree trunk. The thermometer registers CELCIUS only, and it works. The carving is well done, and I am wondering if this item was made in the famous Black Forest of Germany. There is no maker's mark anywhere or clue as to where it was made. It probably once had a paper sticker that identified it. The back has a drilled hanging hole which does not go all the way through the wood, so you would not have to look at an ugly nail. The thermometer part is attached to the wood with two tiny nails, and these don't look bad at all. The deer may be a fawn, or a newly born deer. His legs are folded up underneath him as he rests in the woods. He has a brown glass eye. The thermometer is 7 3/4 inches tall, and it is in excellent, working condition.
