Description: Waiting for your purchase is this HALL CHINA CO. pedestal Turkish coffee mug. I believe it to be rare. I have never seen another like it. It has a slightly naughty cartoon on one side that was drawn by FRANK ADAMS (1914-1987), a cartoonist, illustrator, and artist, most famous for his 1944 book, THE HOME FRONT, which showed the can-do spirit of working men and women during World War II. The cartoon on the mug has a young, pigtailed blond girl standing on her dresser admiring herself. Her father, dressed in blue workman's shirt and overalls, clutching his lunchbox says, "ALRIGHT ALICE! LET'S HAVE THOSE SAFETY GLASSES!" Alice, it seems, has appropriated his safety glasses as a bra for her budding bosom. Her skirt is red, the dresser brown with a green back. The caption is seen in black lettering. The mug itself is made of high quality pottery material. It is white inside and out on top except for the cartoon design. The base is black. It has an elegant, pointed-ear handle. On bottom of the mug, it has the word "Hall" in all capital letters in a circle. "Made in USA" and the number 1272 are beneath the logo, and all is stamped on in black.
