Vintage FELIX THE CAT Piggy BANK Ceramic Piggie Bank Made in Taiwan Cartoon Cat Bow Tie

Description: Waiting for your purchase is this vintage FELIX THE CAT bank. It is made of a ceramic type material that is painted both under and on top of the glaze (cold paint). We see a bust of Felix the cartoon cat, showing a wide smile and a red tongue. He is wearing a red polka dot tie with white dots that somehow remind me of dice. Felix's body is black, his eyes white with black pupil dots, his nose black, his mouth a creamy white. There is a wide coin slot on back of his head. He is in excellent vintage condition---has black plastic stopper. The stopper has "made in Taiwan" embossed on it, so I would date this item to the early 1980's, maybe earlier, if the stopper is original. This is a great item for the cat, bank, or Felix collector.

Measurement: He stands almost 4 1/2 inches tall. He is 3 3/8 inches wide across the bottom, approx 4 inches wide at widest point.

Condition: Excellent--no chips or cracks--has stopper--does have slight paint loss in mouth area. The black outline of his mouth and lower eyes was done in cold paint--meaning it was applied on top of the slick glaze, not under it. In time, cold paint just flakes off or washes off. If you are handy with paint and don't mind a "restored" piece, you might repaint or touch up the missing areas.
