Description: Waiting for your purchase is this wonderful vintage GRAVY SEPARATOR, which was made in 1950's era Japan. On the very bottom of the item is the original foil sticker with the name WALES on it, a crown mark, the words "Made in Japan", and Reg. US Pat Off. The separator is made of a quality porcelain material. It is nicely shaped with a comfortable handle with a hole for hanging it up. Each side of the bowl has a spout, so you can tilt it one way for HEAVY gravy and the other for LEAN. The lean side has a tube to block out large pieces of meat, etc., so the gravy is "lean". The bowl is sized to hold well over a cup, perhaps two. Lean gravy and heavy gravy are printed in black on the appropriate sides. The words "no drip gravy separator" is printed in black on the handle top. There is a carrot, a green bell pepper, and a mushroom design inside the bowl. They appear hand-painted, but are probably transfer designs. This item is white on top and a nice lemon yellow on back. It would be perfect for display.
