Vintage GEORGES BRIARD Bouquet Pattern Pottery Bowl Red White Flowers

Description: Waiting for your purchase is this lovely soup-cereal bowl by the noted, award-winning designer of the 50's-70's, GEORGES BRIARD. Briard was from the Ukraine and became famous for his designs for dishes and glassware, which sold at pricey stores such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller. He graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago. He died in 2005 at age 88. This bowl is in the BOUQUET pattern. The bowl is quite heavy and sturdy porcelain material. A design of flowers formed from red or blue dots and tied with a ribbon gives the pattern its name. A matching dark blue band runs just below the rim, while another one enhances the rim itself. A large version of the design is inside one side of the bowl. A smaller version is on the opposite outside. The Briard signature can be seen in the maker's mark on the bottom of the bowl. His work is highly collected and his pottery is becoming very hard to find. Please note that the design on the outside of the bowl is NOT blurred. It is as clear as the inside design, but my camera focused on the inner one.

Measurement: The bowl stands just over 2 1/4 inches tall. It measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter across.
