Vintage OCCUPIED JAPAN 1940s LACQUER BOWL SET Traditional Japanese Figures People

DESCRIPTION: Waiting for your purchase is a adorable set of Japanese lacquerware bowls. This is definitely made in Occupied Japan (1945-51) because my grandfather was stationed in Japan in the Army at the time and sent it back home. The bowls are delightful and feature traditional Japanese figures. There is a larger bowl and 5 smaller bowls. Oriental/Asian sets usually come in uneven numbers like 5, 7, 9 for there sets, in comparison to more Western sets of 4, 6, or 8. The fronts of the bowls are a smooth red and the backs are black. The set is very light and delicate and would be perfect for an Oriental whimsical decor!

MEASUREMENT: large bowl is 7 1/3 wide x 1 3/4 inches tall; smaller bowls are 4 1/2 inches wide x 1/2 inch tall

CONDITION: excellent vintage condition; minor wear to surfaces
