Description:Waiting for your purchase is this wonderful old UPCO (Ungemach Pottery Company) planter. Upco was begun in Roseville, Ohio in 1937 by Fred Ungemach, who had formerly worked for the old National Pottery Co. Upco lasted until 1984, when it was sold. High production costs and competition from foreign markets forced many of the famous American potteries to close. Now their wares are getting scarce and highly collectible. This is a rectangular planter with a dark olive green glaze. The sides taper down to a small base. The rim is gently scalloped. Vintage planters have many uses, other than as planters. They could be used as candleholders and would look lovely on the Christmas table, filled with greenery, candles, and ribbons. I have seen them used as make-up holders for the dresser or bathroom. Roll up 3 or 4 clean, small towels and place in the planter in the bathroom for your guests. Of course, planters make a great collection, too.

Measurement: approx. 2 1/2 inches tall, 6 1/4 inches long, and 3 3/4 inches wide

Condition: Great vintage condition, no chips or cracks
