DESCRIPTION: Waiting for your purchase is a vintage map of KILAUEA MILITARY CAMP, HAWAII NATIONAL PARK, HAWAII. It is dated to the late 1950's-early 1960's ~ I had a family member who vacationed there at this time and it was among the souvenirs.
The map is on quality textured paper and features a history of the KILAUEA MILITARY CAMP on one side. The history begins in 1916 and the map's history goes until 1951. On the other side of the map is more detailed information about HAWAII NATIONAL PARK, VOLCANIC WONDERLAND. It talks about Mokuaweoweo, on the summit of Mauna Loa being last active in 1950. (The most recent eruption of this particular part of Kilauea was in 1984, although Kilauea itself is still erupting today). A great hard-to-find Hawaii souvenir and Armed Forces collectible! Would look nice framed!
MEASUREMENT: the map measures approx. 10 x 15 inches
CONDITION: great vintage condition; there is a crease through the center of the map and 5 creases running up and down; there is some staining to the top right corner and some yellowing on the reverse; there is a circle in blue ink around the camp on the map
