Waiting for your purchase is this lovely vintage VERA (NEUMANN) long pennant style scarf. I believe this scarf is 1960's retro. It has the signature, the copyright symbol and the ladybug. This stylish scarf reminds me of a ship's pennant or flag. It would make a terrific fashion statement belt for jeans!
The scarf is lovely with a brown and gray flower design. The edges are hand-rolled and machine sewn.
The original tag is missing, but this scarf was probably made in Japan as was most of her work during this period. I believe this is a silk or silk blend. This is a pretty one to add to your collection. This is definitely a vintage scarf and NOT a reissue.
Vera Neumann was born in 1910 and died in 1993. Her career in textile design spanned from the 1950's until the 1990's. The butterfly was one of her favorite designs. Patterns came directly from her watercolor paintings. Her work has been used on placemats, ceramics, textiles, sportswear, wall paper, and home accessories.
Her scarves are wildly popular and are being used in many different ways: framed as wall art, table covers, table runners, pillow covers, as belts, as well as just scarves for head or neck wear.
Condition: ---great vintage condition---clean, no rips or picks, a couple of very minor stain dots; original tag missing
Measurement: long runner type, approx. 6 inches wide x 60 inches long
