Vintage TERRACE CERAMICS White Garden Planter MCM Made in USA Patrician Ware

Description: Waiting for your purchase is this lovely vintage mid century planter from TERRACE CERAMICS of MARIETTA, OHIO. The planter is made of sturdy pottery material and has a smooth matte glaze. It is nicely shaped--reminds me of the upper half of a scallop shell. There is a middle vein and others flare out from that, so there are 4 tall thicker ribs on each side which rise higher along the rim, 2 forming the corners. One thick rib is on each end of the planter. Smaller ribs fill in the areas between the larger ones, giving this planter a nice overall visual effect. Remarkably, the original paper sticker is still found inside the back of the planter. It says, "HANDCRAFTED TERRACE CERAMICS MARIETTA, OHIO" and shows a drawing of a hand holding a brush. Without this sticker, I would not have known who the maker was. The planter also has 4 small feet on bottom. It would look lovely in any mid century decor or collection of vintage planters. It would be pretty as a cachepot for herbs in the kitchen, too.

Measurement: The planter measures 8 inches long, 4 inches wide, and stands 4 inches tall.

Condition: Great vintage condition, no chips or cracks, has some scratches and sticky floral tape on the inside (could probably be removed), some minor scratches to the exterior
