Vintage GREECE SOUVENIR PLATE DISH Deer Red Clay GREEK Folk Art Hand Painted

Description: Waiting for your purchase is this charming small souvenir plate from GREECE. It is made of red clay or terra cotta material and has been nicely decorated with light cream, black, and dark red. There is a black ring around the edge and another thinner one just inside. Petals or peaks next surround the plate in a border design. Two more thin black rings come next. The center is a lovely design of a deer or other 2 horned animal. This is possibly the hind, a deer sacred to the goddess Artemis. On back, printed in paint is the maker's mark, which says "Copy Korinthian Grobe Hand Made in Greece". There is a gouge through the foot of the plate, put there by the maker. Through this is run a plastic loop for hanging.

Measurement: The plate measures 4 1/4 inches across in diameter.

Condition: Great vintage condition, minor wear to edges, red marks on the back were put there by the artist
