Vintage SEXTON METAL WALL PLAQUES Boy and Girl TENNIS Players 1975 Battle of the Sexes

Description: Waiting for your purchase is this charming item, a set of 2 cast metal plaques representing a boy and girl tennis players. They are dated 1975 on back, only a couple of years after the famous Battle of the Sexes, featuring Billie Jean King against Bobby Riggs. Billie Jean won for women world wide. Here the girl tennis player is also the winner. She is in action mode, wearing a bright yellow tennis outfit. Her face, hair, and movement all show that she means business and is concentrating on winning. Her opponent, on the other hand, an awkward red-haired fellow, is clearly the loser since he has a bright green tennis ball lodged in his mouth! He has given it his best effort, though, since we see that his tennis racket is broken. These display both humor and sportsmanship. These are so cute. They will inspire you in your gym or recreation room. They both have their hangers on back. They have some minor paint scrapes, but are in super shape for their 35 years. Each plaque measures about 11 1/2 inches tall.
